Tame Impala reminds me of a band from the 60's and 70's, and the lead singer of a guy with round specs married to a crazy artist. It's about time someone dared to take this genre on again!

Boat Houses in Hamburg
When I visited Hamburg a few months ago I had a look at these amazing boat houses. Most of them for accommodation but some were architects offices (note to self!). They're situated close to the city centre on the Eibek-canal, but the entrances are permanent. It seems it's not so much about the need to move your home, but about the scenery you surround yourself with. Certainly the homes get a very special expression with the restrictions and possibilities of the site. Which one is your favourite?

Metronomy + Grizzly Bear =Dan Croll

Dan Croll, who used to play in the Norwegian band "Eye Emma Jedi", has gone solo and has pulled the greatest musical tricks from my favorite bands: the simple organ beat by Metronomy to the dirty guitar riffs of Grizzly Bear. He might be a little music thief, but I love his latest single "From Nowhere".

Everything is embarrassing
A couple of years ago I think I blogged about her song "One", since then her hair aint as nice, but the sound is even better. As you notice from the video Sky Ferreira has discovered she's one foxy lady.
My latest posts have been very 80's influenced, I guess the 80's really are back- but arent they always?

push and shove
I was No Doubt's biggest fan through their previous albums. It's been 11 years since "Rock Steady" and today their new album is released. I already love this song, especially the chours. I love the play on tempo, almost like a mix of reggea and drum-and bass beats. Now I'm off to get the album for my collection, I'll let you know if it's a comeback to pay attention to.

Cant remember if I've posted this before, but this song (and the whole album) is super duper!!

Grimes 2
I wrote about this girl about a year ago, now her album "Visions" is out. It's such a careful sound, but I feel like this is what old hipsters in Tokyo or Shanghai would listen to. Claire Boucher (which is her real name) is from Vancouver and "Visions" is actually her third album. Fun facts about Grimes:
-She used to live on a houseboat.
-She did ballett for 11 years.

Ingeborg
Especially for one of my most loyal readers!
"Dillon" is very pretty too. And she has a poetry link on her website, and a visual diary-

Tycho
I've gotten really in to this electronica/house genre lately, but a track takes a few "listens" in order to know if you like it or not. Well I love this one! Tycho is a project from the artist and producer Scott Hansen from San Fransisco. Since 2006 he's released a bunch of EP's, singles and now an album "Dive". Check them out from his website (links to soundcloud there as well): http://tychomusic.com/

Of course I love the xx, who doesn't?! The new album is pretty similar to the self titled debu-album, but I've listened the shit outta that cd anyway, so about time I got a new one:)
Angels is one of my favourite tracks from their new album "Coexist":
Did you know that in the gap between these brilliant album, Jamie Smith from the xx made an album titled "Home" with Gil Scott-Heron. This is one of my favourite tracks form that album:

Bryan Florence
I love Ceremonials, the newest album from Florence and the Machine. She fearlessly channels my musical heroes, like Kate Bush and Bryan Ferry. The latter is really present in this song, and I'm trying to find out which Ferry song it reminds me of...? Or perhaps a Roxy Music tune...

Memory Monday
This tune has been brought back to life, and to survive 2012 critics, by Hudson Mohawke. Its like vintage clothes or retro furniture- right?

tip of the day
check out Youth Lagoon, saw them in Copenhagen in March, they're perfect live. Sometimes it's nice to know a band before all the radios do.
confidence
but then again you just listen to this on your way to your presentation and you're a badass G!
